Silverleaf Princess Flower is a tropical shrub that grows to 4-6 ft tall. Five-petaled, purple-violet flowers are borne in long panicles. Flowers are 3-4 cm across, with a light colored throat. The plant carries 7-veined, broad ovate-heart-shaped leaves 4-6 inches long, that are silky above. Leaves have prominent veins that are puffed up in the middle and old leaves will often turn an orange color just prior to dropping off. Silverleaf Princess Flower is native to South America, cultivated in parts of India.
